Things To Check When Buying Your Next Apartment

Apartments come in all shapes and sizes and are a great alternative to a house, allowing you to stay close by to the city. Apartments for sale in Llandudno vary in size and facilities – depending on your price range of course!

When looking for your next apartment for sale in Llandudno there are a few things we think you need to check beforehand.

Nearby Facilities

In a lot of cases apartment living generally means living with less space, however there are a few luxury apartments which have much more space and have a contemporary feel.

If your apartment has a lot less space than a typical home, facilities are important. For instance, you may not necessarily have a garden and if you have a dog that can sometimes be tricky. You are going to want to look for somewhere that has a local park or green so that they can do their business. Also, apartment living can sometimes feel crowded and stuffy so having some local bars and restaurants to retreat to is a blessing in disguise.

Parking

If you own a car, living in an apartment can sometimes be tricky. Whilst some offer a parking space with the price others don’t which means finding a free parking space or accounting for how much it will cost you in parking to live there. Parking in busy areas can also be impossible at times if you don’t have a designated parking spot – just make sure you bear this in mind before you go ahead and purchase.

If you don’t own a car then you will be looking for good transport links that are close by so you can get around easily.

Storage

When living in an apartment you are confined with how much space you have for storage and with a garage probably out of the question you are likely to have no space to put all your clutter. Many large apartment buildings have access to storage cages in the car park – but if you don’t have this luxury make sure you investigate nearby storage facilities before you go right ahead with your purchase.

Get To Know Your Neighbours

One thing about owning your own home, regardless if it’s in a house or an apartment, is that you can’t control who will be living next door to you. In an apartment you may not only have someone living next door but also above and below so it’s a good idea before purchasing to suss them out. Your estate agent will be able to give you a rough guide on what the other neighbours are like and it will give you a better idea on how their lifestyle may affect yours.

Things To Consider Before Purchasing

Noise

Take in all the noises whilst inside the apartment and get a feel to see what noises you may expect. This can be anything from rowdy neighbours to traffic.

Odours

It’s a good idea to suss out the different smells too – not only in your apartment but also communal areas. This can be anything from animals to rubbish

Light

Make sure you apartment has a great deal of light coming into the building – you don’t want your new apartment to feel as small as it is. Having access to a window or balcony would be best but make sure it is some natural light and not just artificial.
